The Dutchman is currently out of action with a shoulder injury and his contract ties him to the Magpies until June 2017.
Earlier this week he was heavily linked with Milan, but TMW now suggest Roma are also ready to do battle for Krul’s signature.
He would be replacing another Dutch international, Maarten Stekelenburg, at the Stadio Olimpico.
The problem would be that Milan can offer European football, whereas Roma’s hopes
of qualifying for the Europa League are still in the balance.
