The Slovenian has been paired with the capital club given that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini knows the player well from their time together in Sicily.
“I haven’t spoken to Sabatini for about six months,” Amir Ruznic told La Roma 24.
“He is obviously aware of Josip as he launched him at Palermo and he appreciates his quality.“
“Our relationship is excellent, but it is too soon to talk about a transfer.“
“Everything will have to wait until the end of the season.“
“We had a meeting with Palermo about a month ago and we decided that we would talk again once the campaign was over.”
The midfielder has also been linked with a possible move to Sampdoria.
The 25-year-old has scored seven goals in 26 League games so far this season for the relegation-threatened club.
