Il Tempo report that the mystery businessman was born in Jordan and has ties to the Jordanian royal family, and has made a number of investments in Italy.
All that Il Tempo know of the individual's name is that his initials are A.A.A.Q. They add that he has already met the team director Baldini twice and that he was
present at the Stadio Olimpico for Roma-Juventus on Saturday evening.
The move would not be to replace the American ownership, but instead to reduce Unicredit's holdings in the club. As a result, he would provide a second source of finance to support Roma in the transfer market and provide financial backing for the new stadium.
There are no indications as to what role he would perform at the club, outside of being an investor, but it is claimed that while nothing is official as yet, the last few days of talks have been very productive and that matters have a good chance of being finalised shortly.
