AS Roma CEO Italo Zanzi
AS Roma CEO Italo Zanzi has discussed his club’s plans for a new stadium today, insisting to Il Romanista that it is a ‘serious’ project.

The Giallorossi hope to soon receive the go-ahead to build their new 60,000 capacity stadium that they hope to have ready for 2016 and he believes it will re-energise the side.

“The new stadium is a serious project and is an important one
that will change Roma in a positive way both on and off the field,” said Zanzi. “It is a concrete project that requires continued analysis, accurate assessments and decision making all of which are in full swing.

“This is not a small project and is something that is very important to us and will be a dream come true. We want to give the fans the opportunity to games in the best possible environment and which will help the team to win. We are confident that soon we will have new news about this.”

Zanzi also said that the support of notable politicians has helped with the project.

“It has been very good for us to get feedback from political leaders at various levels and we will continue to support this collaboration for the duration.”
