The Giallorossi midfielder told Spanish news agency EFE, “It’s true, Barcelona are tracking me and enquired about my situation with my club”
“They were watching me during the game with Fiorentina. It is Roma who have to decide, as the clubs deal with these matters.
“In any case, it is clear that Barcelona are a team everyone would like to play for and it is an honour that they are interested in
me.”
The 22-year-old could be lured to the Nou Camp by the appeal of the Champions League as Barcelona await AC Milan in the round of sixteen.
Rumours are also circulating that German giants Bayern Munich are keen on signing the former Lyon man as Pep Guardiola begins to lay the foundations at his new managerial job.
Pjanic's contract with the Giallorossi runs until June 2015.
