The captain has been in talks with the Giallorossi since the start of the year although no official agreement has been reached as yet.
Reports suggest that although both parties have agreed on ‘Er Pupone’ earning €2.5m a year as part of the contract, it is the length of the deal which is the main stumbling block at the moment.
Totti, who has been with the club for
over 20 years, wants an extension that will see him remain in the capital until 2016, when Roma are scheduled to move into their new stadium.
However, the club would like him to sign a year-on-year contract, something that he has yet to give the nod to.
The 36-year-old has supplied 10 assists and 11 goals for i Lupi so far this campaign.
