De Rossi's Response To Delio Rossi

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has lashed out at Sampdoria coach Delio Rossi following the capital club’s 3-1 loss on Sunday.

Rossi was seen giving the middle finger to Roma players as time wound down at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris during the fiery match.

The Sampdoria manager was sent off minutes later for an argument with Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso, and has since stated that he was provoked into the action.

Despite the coach’s claims, De Rossi said,”I don’t want to judge Rossi, because he is my senior, but I would ask myself questions if I got to my 50s and 60s and behaved like this”

The Roma midfielder added, “It was embarrassing, especially as it’s not exactly the first nasty incident he has been involved in.”

The Roma star was referring to Rossi’s sacking from Fiorentina last season following his attack on Adem Ljajic. Rossi had to be pulled off the Viola playmaker by players and coaches, and was dismissed shortly afterwards.

The incident on Sunday came in the second half that saw four goals in a pulsating game. The game also saw Roma’s Pablo Osvaldo miss a second half penalty that would have levelled the game at 2-2.

However, Sampdoria’s Mauro Icardi promptly put the game to bed when he made it 3-1 to the home side.
